I'm one week late for my period and I've taken my third HPT today. The first two that I took were earlier this week and they both came out negative. However, today's result was different. I had a light negative line. All my other negatives were always dark.
Would that still be considered a negative?? Since it's past a week since when my period is due, the hcg level should be high enough to detect, right?
Sometimes I feel like I'm fishing for reasons to believe that I might be pregnant, then get my hopes up high to be disappointed, yet again.
Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.

Agreed
Sorry, I guess I should've been a bit more clearer.
I used a pregnancy test that had a result window that shows a plus or minus sign (which mean preg or not preg), and a control window that shows a line regardless of the result.
My questions is that in the control window which tells whether or not one is pregnant, a minus (I referred to it as a negative) sign appeared. However, it was a very light minus sign- much lighter than the line that which appeared in the control window, which I thought was strange.
I'm asking because after a third test, if a minus sign, whether or a not it's light or dark on the result window, is still considered "not pregnant," I'd rather save myself from more hopeful thinking and future disappointments.
I hope I'm making better sense now...

Thanks everyone.
I guess the verdict is that the darkness doesn't matter, a minus is a minus.
Next time, I'll go for an HPT that's easier to read. I usually get EPT, but got tired of spending so much money that I opted for a genertic cheaper brand.
Thanks again everyone for your quick replies.
