2nd Trimester

Terrified to be a mommy to 4

I am pregnant with my 4th child and already mother to a 13 yr old girl, 4 yr old boy, and a 2 yr old girl. I just don't know if I will have the energy run after toddlers, reason with a teenager and take care of a newborn all at the same time. Any thoughts or advice?

  • I feel the same way but I'm only on #3.  I have a 5 yr old with developemental delays, and a very active and opinionated 20 month old.

  • You'll be fine! :) Hopefully your 13 year old will want to help you out, but remember to still try to find some time for just her and you (you don't want her to resent you). I come from a family of 4 kids and loved it! (and still do) Watching old home movies, I don't know how my parents did it, but they managed. I was the oldest and often took on the mini mama role at 6.

  • I know exactly how you feel! I am on #4 as well. I have a 14 yr old a 9 yr old and a 3 yr old. My 3 yr old is still very much a mommies girl and very clingy. My 14 yr old thinks he knows it all. Thank goodness my 9 yr old is uch a sweetheart and loves to help her mommy! I am just worried about doing it all over again. I really thought I was done and I was ok with that. I am happy to be pregnant but Im tired just thinking about it. Good luck
  • I have to say having 4 these last 2 years has been my favorite..ok, that's a lie...2 was my favorite, then 4. I've loved it.  Your 2 year old will LOVE playing with this new one in a few months.  My younger 2 are soo close and they are over 3 years apart. I love it.  I'm scared to death to have #5.  I have a sister with 5 and 2 sisters with 6 and 5 was their killer.  ugh!  I think it all depends on how good of a baby you get, how your hormones balance and how much sleep you get.  ha!  Good luck. You'll do great, and in a few months you'll love it even more!!!
