So - where are you giving birth??

I was moved to Plainview from Winthrop.  What do you hear about which local hospitals are better than others?? Dish the dirt please....

    Hi there,

    I will be at Huntington Hospital, luckily, only 5 minutes from my house!  I know that LIJ Manhasset is also supposed to be very good.  I'm sure Plainview will be just fine, though!! Did your Dr. move or did you switch OB/GYN's?

    I delivered at LIJ and it was fine.  Manhasset recently opened a new women's center.  It's supposed to be really nice.  All of the rooms are private rooms.  LIJ is opening a similar center next year.

    My doctor uses LIJ Medical Center but I'm hoping to be able to use the new Katz Center if it opens up in time next year . I live in Huntington and specifically chose a doctor further away to keep from birthing at Huntington Hospital. I have had 2 bad experiences there and the ER is like a Saturday night at Bellevue in the city.
