Mini Pill

Anyone else going on the mini pill PP? After talking about all the options with my OB at my 6 week PP appt this week, I decided on the mini pill while I BF. I am going to pick up my prescription later today. I have done some research and it doesn't sound like there are too many side effects. Any positive experiences? TIA!

I used it for 16 months while BFing my son, and started it again last week. No issues here.

I've been using it for a whole cycle. My only complaint is that there's more breakthrough bleeding than with any other BC i've tried before. My doctor warned me it was a possibility, so it wasn't a huge surprise. Still super annoying though. My supply has still been really good, though, so I can't complain.

Anyone know how effective it is when you're not breastfeeding or just using it as a regular pill? My doc said it's just as effective as the regular pill, but you have to be super diligent to take it at the exact same time every day. I'd hate to get pregnant again after spending the time and money to take the stupid thing.

I'm taking it. So far I'm not having any issues. However, I've noticed that I have absolutely ZERO sex drive. I can't determine if that's a result of the pill or not though, haha.

I also took the mini-pill after DD and it killed my milk supply so I stopped taking it. That's how we ended up with 2u2... I haven't noticed a decrease in milk this time, thank goodness. I'm just not interested in an IUD. Plus...I'd like to start ttc #3 in about a year.

The mini pill is the only pill I can take. The others make me a raving ***. I took it after Ian also. I love it, yes there is break through bleeding but I can deal with that.

Thanks for all your feedback ladies! PP, my OB emphasized the whole taking it the same time every day part too. I'm worried that I won't be good about it but really don't want to think about another baby for a few more years so I am going to try and do my best!

I had it after my first and I did not have any side effects. I did only take it for about a month because I was not very good at taking it at the same time every day in my sleep deprived new mom state

That is my only complaint. We ended up just using condoms and I got a Mirena IUD this time around.

I plan on taking the mini pill since I'm BFing. It sounds like you are BFing as well, but as a warning, my friend got pregnant while on the mini pill--but she wasn't nursing.

I set an alarm for about the time I would wake up for work, since I'll be going back soon. The alarm goes off and I pop a pill. Can't get much better than the exact same time every day. It's also the same time we'd feed the dogs in the morning, so I'm not really inconveniencing myself. Man I miss the ring, though. It was so nice to only worry about it once a month.

I pray for no more babies for a very long time. Let's hope this pill works well enough.
