Cramping at 5 weeks?

Is it normal to have cramping at 5w2d?  I had some cramps before I got the BFP, and a few here and there since.  They are really odd cramps that I can't compare to anything else... quite strong and lasting 10 or so seconds.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Cramping at 5 weeks?

  • I had AF like cramps up until around week 6 or so... according to my RE, it's normal!

  • I have cramps in my lower left side. They come and go. I also have been having lower back pain. From what I hear from other bumpies and my friends it pretty normal.

  • I've been cramping since my BFP. The cramps are comparable to AF cramps, but come and go and don't last more than a minute at a time.I think it's normal! Also they are starting to fade away as the days go on.
  • Totally normal and healthy. ?I had pretty constant cramping and lower back pain up until about 2 days ago.

Drinking lots of water helps; I noticed mine were way worse if I was a little dehydrated.?

  • I am about 7 wks and and have been having some for a bit.  Am being reassured by friends and family this is normal and just baby making your uterus it's home for the next 9 months.  Best of luck to you in your journey.  Hope they start to ease up for you.

  • I get cramps a few times ever day and i am at five weeks. mine dont get very severe, but they do come in very specific ways
  • That is pretty normal for most women.  It is just the baby settling in and it should go away.  If the pain gets really bad or just doesn't feel right at all go to your doctor.

  • I also had cramping. My doctor told me to drink lots of water. There were some cramping that scared me, but it passed. I'm 10 weeks now, and I haven't had any in the last week or so. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

  • I too am at 5 weeks and have had the same cramping.  Mine come and go and don't last very long at all.  I hear that it's common but it's still hard not to worry.
