I will include a link to my FB page for a picture of our beautiful son Roman Allen born 09/10/11.
Contractions started around 3am on 09/10/11 being about 10 mins apart. I waited to see if they would go away but continued until about 530a & I noticed some light pink discharge and then some large amounts of brown discharge that I thought, this is something I shouldn't ignore. My DH just arrived home from work at 3am and left at 530a for the hospital.
I was only dilated to 1-2cm but the contractions were getting to 5 mins apart. Still having discharge they sent the fluid to be checked to see if my water broke/ruptured which it came back negative but nurse knew it had happen. I never had the "big gush of water" just discharge.
They knew I was going to stay and not to home so they moved us to a different room. Was doing well with the contractions until about 4 cm. They gave me pain medication through the IV but that was wearing off so I decided to go ahead with the epidural. The contraction numbers were getting high as 127 and so painful.
After getting the epidural and making a few adjustments, everything was fine. I was so numb my lower half felt like cement! So I was finally ready to push. Did about 5-6 different pushes & dr stops me & says that I'm losing way to much blood, it's not that normal to lose that much. The baby was face up and should be face down & my placenta was rupturing. There was a narrow bone canal (of what I remember he called it) that he couldn't make it through so we went for a C-Section.
DH was crying which made me get emotional & it all happened to fast, taking me to the OR all the lights & people and talking & just wanted DH in there & they kept saying "we are not ready for him yet!" Finally came in & there was a lot of pressure, pushing feelings and at 742pm, Roman Allen D. arrived weighing 7 lbs 13 ounces 20.5 inches. He is PERFECT!
Stayed in the hospital from saturday to tuesday & was discharged. C-Section incision burns when moving around. Breastfeeding has been a CHALLENGE. It takes a lot of effort to get him latched on but when he does he finally eats. He has slight jaundice right now & went down to a weight of 7 lbs 2 ounces as of yesterday. I did start to pump to help with night feedings. He sleeps the whole day and HATES to be woke up for feedings every 2 hrs.
Sorry so long but hopefully you can see the pic of our son Roman Allen.
