I was originally suppose to go in Friday 9/9 for a c-section but it ended up being done on Monday 9/12 for various reasons. I hope to actually write a birth story soon even though it wasn't very exciting, I'm sure pretty standard as a planned c-section goes. Although the cord was wrapped around his neck twice and if I labored I am scared to think about the distress he may have been in and I am so happy we didn't have to go through that.
He is such an angel and nursing so well I can't believe it. I was so scared it wouldn't go as I hoped because of the c/s but I got to have him in an hour tops and he took to it right away.
We just got home yesterday and so far so good. My husband is a huge help because physically I am no where near where I would like, but probably where is normal after surgery. My legs and feet are so swollen! Wasn't half this bad during pregnancy but Dr said that is normal.
Also I am wearing the belly bandit and I feel a huge difference from when I have it on and when I have it off. Much better with it on!
Off to change a dirty diaper! Thanks again for anyone who gave me advice, it helped ease my nerves a ton!
Re: My baby boy is here! Thanks for all the advice ladies!
Congratulations! He's beautiful!
The swelling is totally normal. It's all those IV fluids they pump into you. Drink lots to flush yourself out and it will go away.
that is so scary! glad your LO is here safe
Congratulations! You're baby boy is crazy cute!
I know how you feel about the cord! My c/s was planned, but during the last u/s right before surgery, OB said that the cord was really low near my cervix, so if my water had broken, the cord could have prolapsed & cut off blood supply to DD. I'd never heard of that possibility, so I shudder to think what could have happened.
