We have the snugride 30 and like it. It fits in our Honda Fit and Kia Sorrento equally well. I didn't go for the 35 b/c I didn't think baby would really fit in it until 35 lbs anyway and we would have moved to a rear facing convertible seat. I don't recall that there was that much difference b/w them. I think there might be a better selection if you choose the 35 instead of the 30 though.

We looked at them both, and the only real difference I could find was that the SnugRide 30 only holds baby until he is 30 lbs, but the SnugRide 35 will be acceptable to use until baby is 35 lbs.
I've been wondering which one to get as well, but then I have to start thinking about the convertible car seat to buy next, and it makes my brain hurt. I'm leaning towards the 35, because I can't think about the next car seat yet.
I wish my brain would work properly!

We got the 35 only because we liked the print it came in. I didn't really notice any big differences between the two. They say that the 30 is lighter, but I couldn't tell. So I would just find one that you like

We got the Snugride 35. It fits perfectly fine in my CR-V and DH's Accord. I haven't had any problems with it at all. I also purchased an additional base for it and that's been fine too.

Most likely your LO will reach the height limit before the weight limit and the only difference in those seats is the 30lb vs 35lb weight limit. I went with the 30 because it was lighter and didn't want extra weight to carry. My son will probably reach the height limit in the next 2 mos at the rate he is growing height wise and obviously at that point he won't be anywhere near 30 lbs.

I have the 30 because that's what fit in between my older two. It is slightly lighter and I like the base better. I don't know how large your DC is but my oldest son just turned 4 and when I weighed him a month ago he was only 34 pounds. I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you.
I have the snugride 30 "B is for Bear" carseat and am very happy with it. I also picked the 30 b/c I figured my LO would be too long for it before reaching the weight limit and it is lighter than the 35. The additional bases are now universal and will fit the 30 and 35. It fits very well in my Cobalt and my DH's Equinox.
We got the 35, but don't recall if there was a specific reason for choosing it over the 30. The only concern I have with it is that in our Cavalier, the passenger seat has to be moved forward a fair bit. Not a huge issue for myself, but if I am driving and my 6'4" husband is in the passenger seat, he is even more uncomfortable than usual with his knees in the dashboard. Not sure if this would be as much of an issue with the 30 or if it is just an issue with the car. Needless to say, our search for a new car may happen sooner rather than later.
