Pregnant after IF

bed rest

So it's bed rest for me too, I guess.  I've been doing okay so far.  Last week I started having some BH contractions, but I figured those were normal and I never had more than 6 in an hour, so I didn't think much of it.  But I went in for my checkup today and the OB said that my cervix was still long, but was slightly open.  So she wants me on bed rest for the next week and then re-evaluate.  I was kind of blindsided by it.  Obviously, the most important thing is to keep these babies baking as long as possible.  I am still hoping that when I go in next week, they'll find that everything is good and I'll be able to go back to work.  Strange as it sounds, since I knew that I was a higher risk pregnancy, I still wasn't prepared for the idea of going on bed rest at 28 weeks.  Everyone please think closed-cervix-thoughts for me!

  • Hope your cervix stays long and closes up.  I'm surprised that your OB never mentioned BR w/twins.  Mine told me I might be on lockdown as early as 24 just based on this, but then I lost my plug @ 19.  Hang in there, I hope you can get back to normal and go full term.

  • I think taking it easy is a good idea. I cut way back at 28 weeks and was having lots of BH. Reducing my activity really helped and I am still going. I hope you get good news next week
