What is your workout plan??

I just got the go-ahead to start being more active and I can workout, but I'm not allowed to do any ab workouts just yet (too scared to start anyway!) I don't know where to really start. Maybe I will start with walking and go from there.

What have you ladies done or plan on doing to get back into shape??

  • I'm starting with walking. It's hard enough to get out of the house with LO for a walk, so for now that's good enough for me. In the  next few weeks I'll probably start doing some DVDs while LO is sleeping. I have a couple yoga ones, one postpartum DVD, and some Jillian Michaels DVDs. I'm taking it slow even though I really feel all back to my pre-pregnant self (as far as achiness goes).

  • I started with Stroller Strides right at 6 weeks.  I like the workout and the time with other moms.

  • At 3 weeks, I would walk.  At 6 weeks, I'd get back to the gym with machines or classes as long as it felt comfortable.

    I wish we had that here, it looks like so much fun.  I did by her DVD's though, the Mama wants her body back and I like them a lot, and I also do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.  They are both very similar in format, and a quick and fast paced.

    This is what I did.  I didn't feel comfortable doing anything before 6 wks.  That said, I tried running shortly after the 6 wk appt and after ~10 min, my abs hurt the next day.  It took another 2 weeks to run comfortably and not be in pain the next day.  I'm pretty much back to everything I did pre-pregnancy but working back up to the level I was before and during pregnancy.
