My step dad is making the girls a table and chairs for x-mas and wants to know what size to make it. I'm torn between a square and a rectangle does anyone have an experiece to share on this matter? I'm thinking a rectangle would allow for enough personal space for each of them and possibly minimize swipping. But at the same time, is it going to encourage them to crawl up and across the table to get what they want? I'm thinking either 24"x24" square, or 30"x22". WWYD?

Re: Table and Chairs for Toddler Twins...
I have no advice... only to say I'm not sure there is anything you can do to discourage them crawling on top of the table. There isn't anything my guys haven't wanted to crawl on yet.
FWIW, we have a square table... I think my guys are still a little to small for it. We got it for free from our neighbor so it's just been sitting in our garage.

We have a square table and 4 chairs and it's perfect for the girls. They each take a side across from one another and have plenty of space to spread out their puzzles, crayons, coloring book pages, etc.
So sweet of your dad to make a table& chairs for your LOs!!
