Job? Did you post about this and I missed it? Are you like nervous/excited?? And most importantly...will you still have time to cookies and cupcakes for me??? hehe.. Good luck!!!
um, nope, you didn't miss anything. I haven't really said much... I think I'm in denial!
But, I'm going back to my "former" life in banking. My old manager contacted me and wanted to know if I'd be interested in coming back. Originally it was going to be PT, but after realizing how much I'd be bringing home paying for DC 3 days/week, it wasn't worth it. Plus, as a full-time employee they have some great benefits- like a homebuyer assistance grant and reimbursing childcare 55% (which was the real deal maker)
The good thing is I will be working at one of the supermarket branches, which is open 7 days... so, even though it stinks I'll be working one weekend day a week, I'll also get one day a week off to stay home w/ Evan. That coupled w/ the fact they aren't open till 10:30, I'll get to have a bit of time in the morning w/ him too... and DH will be picking him up by 4:30, so he won't be in daycare tooooo long.
I'm a nervous wreck... not about the job, but about sending E to daycare. Even though I know he'll do great.... we've been there a few times and he jumps right in and plays, doesn't want to leave. I'm sure there will be tears monday, but from me, not him!
oh, and yes... I still plan on doing the baking thing on the side. I told DH now that I'll be working FT and contributing to the household income, every penny I make doing cake orders will be spent on shopping and pedicures It'll be my "fun" money!
It's funny, cuz like the day after I accepted the position I got about 6 orders for cakes/cupcakes!
And good for you! I'm sure Evan will looooooooooove it. He's at the age where he is really going to thrive off of the "school environment" ...and having one full week day with you and then a weekend day with Daddy sounds ideal! I'm sure all will be great - good luck!
