My H and I have been talking about names for our phantom baby and boys names for us are always much more difficult. Everett has been the only boy name we have agreed that we both like.

Here is the thing, our last name rhymes with "Corvette". Do you think that is too much ett for one name? I think it might be..

The only other name we like is Edward with a nn of Eddie. The reason we are unsure about that name is because of the whole Twilight craze. We like the name because it is traditional and in all honesty we are huge Pearl Jam fans and we love Eddie Vedder, lol. Does your mind automatically go to Twilight when you hear Edward?

    I love Everett. I do think it would be too much with your last name.

    Edward is a great, timeless name. I am a fan of the Twilight books and I'm pretty sure no one will think that you named him that because of the craze. Twilight won't be such a craze forever, but Edward will always be a wonderful name : )

    It's funny you say that because I went to see Pearl Jam last night and was thinking about the name Eddie or Edward and the thought that popped into my head that made it a quick "no" was Twilight. Sure, Twilight won't be ppular forever, but for right now I wouldn't want my kid named anything even closely related. I agree too that Everett might be too much with your last name. I'd just keep looking or use Edward if it doesn't bother you much.

    I love Everett. It's one of my guilty pleasure boy names. Unfortunately, I think it's too much with your last name. 

    I like Edward and Eddie, though.

    Everett is my son's middle name, and also my grandfathers name.  I think it's great.  I don't think it would be too many "ett"s, as long as it's not a rhyme, but if you do, I don't think Edward would be associated with Twilight-- at least not for very long.  It's far more classic than trendy, and there are plenty of other characters and social figures named Edward than just the vampire :)

    I love Everett and it is on our (very) short list of boy names.  I do think it is too much with your last name though.  I like Edward much better for your situation and don't think of Twilight at all...but then again, I'm not a fan.  In general though, I think it is a very classic name.

    How about Evan?  Similar to Everett, without being too matchy with your last name.
