anyone use arc for financing ivf?

when i went in for 2nd iui my re told us our chances of it working are low with my husbands sperm count. he said if this round does not work he said we need ivf. the billing specialist gave us the numbers which i knew would be high. then she gave us thiss financing place. has anyone used this? they dont give prices or figures on the site. you have to call over the phone and pay 75 dollars for them to price things out. now my husband called and thats what he told me but we are holding off until i see oif this iui works. any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Re: anyone use arc for financing ivf?

  • $75 Just for them to price things out???? That's crazy. My Husband and I looked into the financing programs and the best option turned out to be putting it on my credit card. The financing program at my clinic required you to put $700 down (for ivf) and finance the rest, paying $370 a month. That was wayyyyy too much for us.

  • I have not used this, so I cannot attest to it, but I know that my RE has a pamphlet for Attain IVF for shared risk programs and financing.  I don't know if they're specific to a region, but I think there's a good number of options out there.  It might be worth it to check out a few financing options.  It seems weird to me that they'd charge a fee to tell you how much they cost - but there's so many weird things about IVF that I'm learning as going.

  • I am using ARC, but I'm not doing one of the refund programs.  For my clinic, ARC offers either refund programs or regular programs.  Strangely, at my clinic, the cost of one fresh cycle OOP is slightly more than the ARC regular one cycle plus package, and the ARC one cycle plus includes a FET, so it is silly to not buy the ARC package (it's like getting a FET for free plus a slight discount).

They did not make me pay the $75 application fee to give me pricing for their regular, non-refund packages.  When I asked about the refund packages, they said it would cost $75 for them to put together pricing.  The refund package pricing is put together based on your history, so it's individualized, and that's why they charge the fee.  But if you do decide to buy a package from them, the $75 fee is applied to the package price.

Good luck figuring it all out!  But I hope you don't have to!

  • Thanks ladies:) Like I said, my husband called so he probably did not ask the right questions. We just have a lot of loop holes to jump through. if we pay out of pocket with no insurance we have to put down 10,939.00. No joke. My ER office is located in my homestown, but its a branch of UPMC Pittsburgh. Maybe thats why its so high for a down payment? And something new that I have figured out since I posted yesterday was that my husband and I can have half of IVF covered if we switch to his insurance which is a plus, but open enrollment is not until July:( Hopefully this IUI cycle works!
