We've been using a BG pocket stuffed w/ microfiber and hemp or bamboo for a nighttime diaper. We don't change during the night and rarely have leaks with this combo, however the inserts are very soaked by the morning. It seems like DS's skin is much redder than it should be after the night. It gets better during the day w/ more frequent changes and naked bum time, but doesn't completely go away. I think it's just from being in the same diaper for so long and maybe the microsuede lining isn't sufficient to keep the wetness off. I'm afraid over time it could become a rash.
Do you find this issue with fitted/wool combo? I know it's supposed to be more breathable than PUL but since the fitteds aren't lined w/ fleece, the wetness is still sitting on their skin, right? What does your LO's skin look like after being in the same diaper all night?
Re: Question about fitteds/wool at night
Is his skin wet in the morning? Maybe your inserts are maxed out and the suedecloth can't wick any more moisture away. We went through a phase like that with fitteds and switched to stay-dry fleece pockets for that reason.
I would try adding a more absorbancy and see what happens.

DS doesn't have issues in fitteds, but he doesn't have issues in his soaked pockets, either, so he might not be a good point of comparison
You can always use a fleece liner in a fitted. There are also fitteds that are fully lined with microfleece or suedecloth, e.g. Happy Hempys, Very Baby Simply Nights.
