I am having trouble finding a black crib set that has a dresser/changer with a hutch and is also a convertable crib so, the bedding would also go great with white furniture but do you feel white furniture is ok for a boy? I plan in using this furniture for awhile?
Re: white cribs
We're having a boy, and we found a great deal on a white crib at BRU. The room is painted light blue and it looks really nice IMO. All the other furniture in there is white too, and we figure it'll be great next time if we have a girl.
I got a white set at BRU as well- the Babi Italia Eastside- and we are team green. I liked it because it isn't too "girly" like some of the details on white sets can be, so it can be for a boy too. Just change up your bedding.
The one piece of advice I'll offer is what I was told by a saleswoman that stuck with me... be sure that the white set you select is well-crafted because white is paint, unlike wood-colored sets that are usually stained. Paint can peel or chip, especially as LO begins to teethe on the railing or throw toys when they're older. A well-made white set will not, and even if it does, it will not be harmful to baby.
We went with white for DS and it looks great; we would've gone white regardless of the gender since our house is decorated coastal/pottery barn. Plus, I loathe oak and cherry/mahogany is too "grown up" for a nursery.
FYI - we have black furniture throughout our house and while I love it it shows every speck of dust, cat hair, etc.
We are having a boy and bought and ADORE his white crib:
