Mine is going to be at 2 in the afternoon. My host asked me what kind of food I would like, so I know that there will just be snack type foods.

Mine starts at 5 on a Saturday and my mom is doing barbecue type food. I think she's planning on having pulled pork sliders, mac and cheese and jalapeno cornbread. I'm not sure what else she'll do for the savory, but we'll have cupcakes for dessert. I'm not a huge fan of bbq, but it's what she wants to do and she's the host (along with 2 of my friends)

My mom is having one for me in the afternoon and doing fried and grilled chicken, cold cut type sandwiches and different salads as well as a cake for dessert. I am sure she will have other sweets. My MIL and SIL are having a shower for me at my house at 1:30pm and planning to have snack/appetizer type foods and cake.

Mine was at noon and the host served sandwiches, veggies and dip, cheeses, salads, etc and of course, cake!

We're doing a "baby fiesta," so we'll have lots of Mexican food - a taco bar with ground beef and pulled pork, cheese and chicken enchiladas, sopapillas, churros, cookies in the shape of a donkey pinata (not really "Mexican" but they go with the decor), Jarritos sodas, and regular and virgin margaritas.

Mine is at a restaurant, so my mom (who is one of the hostesses) had to choose 3 entree selections from their luncheon menu - she is going w/ salmon, fllet and tempeh w/ grilled veggies (I'm a vegetarian). The starter will be a choice of a green salad or soup of the day and dessert will be cupcakes that one of my friends is bringing in served w/ a scoop of ice cream

After reading and typing about all of this food, I'm getting hungry.

my sister and mom are hosting my shower. they have picked subs, potato salad, pasta salad, a tossed salad and likly a veggie and cheese tray and possibly cheesey potatos.

I just found out that we're having a full meal complete with appetizers and 3 courses - a salad course, soup course and lunch. Crazy huh? I am an environmentalist so one of the things my sister is doing is hiring a caterer who specializes in local, seasonal, sustainable food. This caterer likes to go all out so that's what I'm getting. The shower is October 2nd so we'll be doing a fall menu. I only know one menu item for sure - butternut squash soup. I know it sounds like a lot but I'm excited about it. And my friends love to eat so we're serving a full luncheon.

My Mother and Godmother are giving me an afternoon shower and they are planning to do turkey, ham, and veggie wraps or chicken salad on croissant and pimento cheese on croissant with a fruit and veggie tray. They are also doing cake and fruit punch.
