Have I missed the "what's your child going to be for halloween" post?

Ethan wants to be a baseball player (Cinci Reds, naturally. Of course, he wants to be a certain pitcher and I doubt a jersey exists for the guy).

Bella can't decide. At first she thought she'd also be a Reds player (really, Bella? with your princess obsession?). And then she's gone through all of the princesses. And then she wanted to be a butterfly. And then Marie from the Aristocats. And then a ladybug. Then my sister's dachshund. And then another Reds player. And then a princess again. I'm going to have to tell her tomorrow that she will decide and not change her mind again.

And Maile just doesn't really "get" Halloween because she doesn't remember it last year. She'll likely be jealous of whatever costume Bella gets, so I'll probably have to make them be the same thing.

  • My kid wants to be the Old Navy hamburger.  UG.
    Daisypath Wedding tickers
  • Loading the player...
  • Thomas wants to be a zombie football player (from the computer game Plants vs Zombies)

    Jane is going to be Little Red Riding Hood. I got her a super cute vintage milkmaid style red and white checkered dress off ebay for her to wear, I am super excited for it! I need to find a red cape- I will probably order one through Etsy.

    Isabell (SD) has a different idea every day, she wants to do a joint costume with her best friend though I know.

  • He is going to be The Flash. I just ordered it last night!

  • Lol cracking up at Bella. Too funny!
    My kids are stuck on doing a Christmas theme. (not loving it). Kay wants to be a pretty (wear a dress) version of Rudolph, Landon wants to be a Toy Soldier and Kennedy wants to be Frosty, or an elf or Mrs. Clause. She hasn't made her mind up yet. I haven't mentioned it in a few weeks to see if they forget. Lol.
    I have found an etsy seller who can make a rudolph dress instead of a suit just in case. Lol. Need to decide soon so she can make it and I can order the others.

  • Alex is being Yoda, Adam is being Darth Vader - should I be concerned that no matter the occasion for dressing up or pretending, he ALWAYS wants to be the bad guy?  And Avery wants to be a pink poodle.

  • My mom is making DD a Rapunzel dress and a Tinker Bell costume for our trip to Disney.  DD will be one of those for Halloween.

    DS is going to be a grease monkey.  He is a major lover of cars and I got him a Mater Towing Service blue button up that is covered in auto patches.  Then, he'll wear jeans with a bandana sticking out and I got him a trucker cap with a 'G's Garage' patch on it.  I'll probably put black smudges on his face too.

  • ML = catwoman, but with a ballerina skirt, ha.  Black.  With silver stars.

    TB = batman

    AM = wonder woman

    me = super girl

    H = joker or riddler

    (just a tshirt costume for me & H, probably)

  • Aggie - we almost did Batman, Robin, Wonderwoman and Supergirl (for the kids).  Then my tightass dug out all the past costumes, and we have more than enough for G & E to choose from, so they're not getting new costumes. ;)

    B - Captain America

    N - Strawberry Shortcake

    E - Dalmation or Giraffe

    G - Minnie Mouse

  • jetta: I'll be making most of them (my poor kids) (literally ;o)  Also, I think the cat costumes out there don't seem very age appropriate in my prude eyes, so I'll definitely be making ML's.

    Those catwoman costumes ARE a bit much.  Luckily Nat didn't like it!

    And a "Go you!" for making all that!

  • 5 year old DS chose Angry Birds for he and his 18 month old brother. DS1 will be the red bird, DS2 will be the crown pig.
    She's crafty - and she's just my type.
  • Ryan was going to be the black angry bird and Caleb was going to be the king pig, but the costumes are too big and I am not crafty so R is gonna be Luigi and C is gonna be Mario.

  • James wants to be a garbage truck and Mac is going to be Oscar the Grouch in a trash can. James wanted him to be a bag of trash, but I talked him into Oscar :-) My dad and MH made him a tractor costume last year that turned out awesome, so I am putting my faith in them to produce a quality grabage truck costume too!
  • DD#1 is going to be a unicorn, DD#2 is probably going to be the PBK pumpkin. I originally wanted her to be Pebbles Flinstone (she has red hair and I thought it would be a super cute costume for her) but I can't find a good one, especially one that will work for cold weather so I think I'll just have her wear the pumpkin costume since we already have it from when DD#1 wore it.
    Mom to DD#1 December '06, DD#2 Feb '09 and DS March '12
  • DS is going to be Ironman, he was Spiderman last year and as soon as Halloween was over told me what he planned on for this year. He let me know that DD could be either a ballerina or a princess, thinking she will be a fairy princess, just need the wings.

  • DD1 will be Hermione (from Harry Potter)

    DD2 is undecided but is thinking some kind of girly super hero with red hair?

    DD3 is going to be Rapunzel

    .
  • 10 yr old: Santa Claus

    8 yr old: skeleton

    3 yr old: Harry Potter

    I'm trying to imagine what the three of them are going to look like coming down the street!  We've done themes the past couple years: Star Wars and ninjas, and there's no common link for these costumes, for sure!

    Stay at home mom to a house of boys: two amazing stepsons, 12 and 9, and our 4 year old.
  • Sam is all over the place with what he says he wants to be.  Max is easy and will go with whatever.

    I am hoping Sam will agree to being Superman and then I will have Max be Clark Kent.

  • My DD is going to be Mary Had a Little Lamb.  She was Little Red Riding Hood last year and it was so cute!

  • If you ask DS, it changes daily among just about every super hero out there. I can bet he will be a super hero, just don't know which one.

    DD was thinking of a ladybug, butterfly, princess, or pumpkin. I am pushing her toward pumpkin since we already have that costume. We'll see...

    Oooooh, love it!!

  • I thought for sure DD was going to be Daphne (Scooby Doo), which I was ho-hum about. Then a couple days ago she was looking through the Chasing Fireflies magazine and decided she wanted to be the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

    I found a queen of hearts costume for DD and a mad hatter costume for DS on costumecraze and ordered them. DD's dress already arrived and she loves it...YAY!
