I'm off work right now to rest because of two SCHs, and today I got a call from the co-worker who is been covering for me, with a question. She doesn't know I'm pregnant or why I'm at home.
After saying hello, the first words out of her mouth were (and not spoken lightly I might add): "J, I'm going to kill you." I made her repeat herself because I thought I misheard her. I was taken aback and replied "That's really not the kind of thing you want to be saying to me right now".
This woman is near retirement age. She didn't apologize. Instead, she just started bitching. I was fuming but kept my cool. Then she tried fishing for information, and I told her my bosses know why I'm not at work and goodbye. Insensitive *****!

That's so rude! I would tell my boss what she did! That's unacceptable!
I'm a CNA and I got sent home by my Endocrinologist because I'm pregnant and my blood sugar would not come up! It was in the 50's and I ate something..15 minutes later it dropped into the 40's. I had to leave work, and have DH come get me. I had to leave my car even! My Endo talked to the charge nurse and she said I was going home. I was in tears...the float (it was the evening shift where I worked so I had people to put to bed) was mad because no one down my hall was in bed and he didn't see why I had to go home even though I'm pregnant and having low blood sugar and my baby could have died...but work is soo much more important than my child! Ugh!
I told my charge nurse the next day, I might end up telling him off if he has another epic vagina moment complaining about me. She's keeping track because he gives me a hard time for no reason.
But I would let your head people know because she has no business calling you up to try to tell you off about you not being able to work. I would have hung up on her.
I was so tempted to hang up on her, and I was very short with her. My heart was pounding and I was shaking at the end of the call. I almost called my boss right then and there, but I didn't want to get too worked up.
MotherMonster - that must have been so scary! That guy sounds like the biggest moron. I understand, yes, it sucks to be inconvenienced, but too freaking bad! Our health is never less important than our jobs. I hope you've been doing better since then.
