  • 1. Yesterday's responses prompted this question... How do you "cheat" on BR?~ I go to Starbucks for my favorite drink.  My sister is coming to visit this weekend, so I may cheat and go to the store (in a wheel chair).  Just depends on how I am feeling. 2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?~ Probably my first 16 weeks.  I was so sick, throwing up, hospitalized, had the zofran pump, lost 15 pounds... it was very rough. 3. What's your favorite fast food joint?~  Hands down, Chick-fil-A.  Great!  Why did I ask this question?  Now I want Chick-fil-A! Updates:~ I forgot to mention yesterday, I am NOT off BR tomorrow (posted last week).  My doctor confirmed it's at 34 COMPLETED weeks.  Sneaky, sneaky!  Oh well, just one more week of BR.  Even when I go off, I won't be ripping and running.  I am so sore and have horrible back pain and tons of pressure.  But, I do want to go out to eat, one last time, as a family of three!   Vents: ~ A bit more sore and uncomfortable today.  But, if this pregnancy has taught me anything, it could be so much worse.  So, I am grateful today and my spirits are pretty good.

I have no cheats so far and I'm on hospital bedrest sooo, I'm basically on lockdown. :-)

    2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?

The whole thing?!But probably getting admitted. I had terrible m/s, my fibroids caused intense pain on and off and not they have caused an incompetent cervix...so I guess the challenge is really these darn fibroids!!!

    3. What's your favorite fast food joint?

    Def Chick-fil-A, totally agree!!!

Updates:This is my first full day, I was admitted yesterday afternoon.

Vents: Nothing yet, just give me time ;-)

Check with your nurses if family can take you outside in a wheel chair for some fresh air!  I've seen others on hospital bed rest... it may be worth asking.

How do you "cheat" on BR?  If you mentioned a cheat yesterday, please give us a new one.  Come on... you know you have one more! Its really hard to cheat when you're in the hospital on bedrest so I actually can't think of anything lol 2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far? Having GD hands down. I am obsessed with sweet foods so it has been really hard for me to cut everything sweet out of my diet. I can't wait to have my LO so I can indulge on some Krispy Kreme and Starbucks Smile3. What's your favorite fast food joint? hmm thats a tough one. Probably Mcdonalds since it seems like quite a few of their menu options are within my carb allowance. Updates: none since yesterdayVents: I am in a pretty good mood today so no vents that I can think of lol

  • 1. Yesterday's responses prompted this question... How do you "cheat" on BR?  If you mentioned a cheat yesterday, please give us a new one.  Come on... you know you have one more!  I went to CVS the other day because I needed some Monistat and I just couldn't do that to my DH.  He's been so wonderful that I know buying it would have embarrassed him beyond belief.  It was good to get out even just for 5 minutes and despite the redneck who said "Wow!  You're about to pop, aren't you?"  My response "Well sir.  I'm measuring right on time and still have two months to go.  If he's born now he will have to stay in NICU and the doctors say that the strongest babies in NICU are African American girls followed by Caucasian girls.  Then African American boys followed by Caucasian boys.  So we want him to stay put as long as possible because otherwise he will be in NICU for a while."  The look on his face was priceless so I left it at that.2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?  Bed rest and not being able to do anything or eat what I want since being diagnosed with GD.3. What's your favorite fast food joint?  Taco BellUpdates:  Doctors appointment this afternoon.  Praying for more good news.Vents:  I better not because I could go on for days.  lol.

Ditto this! My OB approved for me to go out on wheelchair rides and it really helps to make you feel better when you can go outside and get some fresh air. I think it depends on how strict your bedrest is though. Couldn't hurt to ask Wink

I rode with my friend to the drive-thru yesterday Tongue Tied She had driven a long way to come see me and I didn't want to stress her with finding the restaurant and getting my food for me too! We didn't even go in... And I take the opportunity to stand for as long as possible when I get up for bathroom or meals. My hips get so sore and I need to strech out!

    2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?

Absolutely this... pre-term contractions starting at 18 weeks, the scare of a shortening cervix (or at least we thought it was!), 2 hospitalizations so far (and hoping not to go back till we are 36+ weeks and ready to have these babies!), bedrest... all of this has been scary and overwhelming. Other than that my pregnancy has been fabulous! I have felt really good, no sickness or problems there. Just have to keep moving forward Smile

    3. What's your favorite fast food joint?

I am a sucker for a good cheeseburger! There is a local place here called Junior's that has amazing burgers and waffle fries. It is probably my favorite, and I eat there more than I should!!

Updates: I ended up writing an update post a few above this one, it got way long!!

Vents: None today. Just thankful Smile

  • Cheats:  Not sure if it's actually cheating because I'm not on the strictest bedrest, but I try to get out of the house for a little bit each day - I find I get depressed sitting around the house all day by myself.  Monday I took a 3 minute car ride to get a donut and get out of the house for 15 minutes, Tuesday I went to a movie, and yesterday I had a doctor's appointment (which of course isn't cheating, but it got me out of the house which was nice).

Challenge:  This bedrest/housebound stuff.  With fall coming, I feel like the worst is yet to come.  At least the weather has been nice lately - I've beeen able to read a book on the porch for a bit almost every afternoon.  I'm in Canada, so it will get cold and ugly fast now.

Fast food:  I'm an old school McDonald's fan! Mmmm, chiken mcnuggets are my fave.

Updates:  Had a doctor's appointment yesterdaty (21.5 weeks).  Cervical length is holding steady at 2.8.

  • Ok- I'm done lurking! 5 weeks on BR so far and I've finally accepted I'm an official member of the BR Club....

    1. Yesterday's responses prompted this question... How do you "cheat" on BR?  If you mentioned a cheat yesterday, please give us a new one.  Come on... you know you have one more!

As PP said I have a toddler so I change his diaper and get him dressed before Daycare...it is so hard not to cheat with him around!

    2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?

My last pregnancy was so easy and I was very active- I'm having a really hard time coming to grips with being HR...I feel terrible that I might let my little girl down by not giving her enough time to cook. : (

    3. What's your favorite fast food joint? CHIC FIL A- My IL's bring it over once a week- got to get my fix!

Updates: Quick intro: 20 wk CL was 1.3- rescue cerclage placed at 22 wk - CL holding at 2.5 - I have a CL check on Monday- really hoping to stay on SBR at home and not at the Hospital...T&P's please... : )

I "cheated" and it didn't turn out all that great... :( I got yelled at, really felt crappy, and scared myself, so NO CHEATING!!!! I'll yell at you before the L&D has too :) I was sitting instead of lying and going through a lot of things in our room, I was really busy, but thought I was safe b/c I wasn't lifting or doing too much walking and such... I was wrong, but baby Ayden is doing great and I promise not to cheat anymore!

    2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?

Honestly adjusting to the idea of being PG after being so devastated before. After getting over the shock and denial at 20 weeks I was put on bed rest at 22 weeks, so there wasn't much time for the "Yayy" before the "oh no" kicked in. But the farther we get and the stronger his little heart gets, the more" Yayy" we feel every day!!!!

    3. What's your favorite fast food joint?

Don't have a favorite anymore, although we are getting a Zaxby's in our town soon so I am really excited for the "new" FF restaurant!

Updates: DS is still improving which is awesome! He is holding down (soft) foods since later yesterday evening and has done well so far today too! He did a little back peddling around 2 am, but once he woke up at 9 am he was feeling better again. Slow process but making progress!! Should be back to school and normal foods by Monday!! Yayy for Pre-K!

Vents: Still trying to get my Cell phone straightened out.... they disconnected my phone # and said they can reconnect a number it just won't be mine.... maybe it is just hormones.... but NO this isn't good enough, I want my number, we have too many dr's and specialists tied to that # not to mention family and friends... it would take months to straighten it all out if I had to get a new one..... :( Not a happy camper w/ this, but there could be bigger problems,,,, so :)

DH still hasn't found employment so my + attitude is taking a bit of a dive, I think it's mostly just from being a little tired and warn down from sick LO's and misbehaving on bed rest, but still keeping our FX that something will come up soon!

Even if it is just a mile down the road, it makes me feel normal. 2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far?--Trying to stop myself from doing things...I know I should be resting more, but I have always been so independent, so the transition has been rough 3. What's your favorite fast food joint?--I love me some Chick-fil-a and whataburger Updates: saw the doctor this morning. no internal today. he said that we will do one next week though.Vents: ok so far...

    Hi, bed resting Mamas!

I was in your shoes from January to July this year.  My son was born 9 weeks early, but he is doing pretty well for his prematurity.  I remember being so depressed all the time when I was stuck in bed and this check in was one of the best parts of my day, most days.  I'm ecstatic that it is still up and runningBig Smile I just wanted to spread a little cheer: https://damnyouautocorrect.com/

Keep overachieving at bedrest!  You can do this! Best of luck to you all!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and providing encouragement!  I'll be checking out that website tonight or tomorrow!  I need some entertainment today!  It's been one of those blah days for me.  I hope your son continues to do well!

  • 1. Yesterday's responses prompted this question... How do you "cheat" on BR?  If you mentioned a cheat yesterday, please give us a new one.  Come on... you know you have one more! - I wasnt cheating TOO terrilby much on bedrest because I was not on a strict bedrest.  I was still allowed to do some things, I just wasnt supposed tobe leaving my house.  Today though I am officially on strict bedrest :(

    2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far? - the most challenging part so far has been dealing with every week I think I'm feeling better and then It's just worse.   It seems like every time I go to the doctor they find something new in my labs, or they decide we are going to try something new.  It is so hard to get used to anythnig when I feel like this whole thing is a whirlwind.  My husband is so level headed so if he were around more I think it would help me to stay calmer.

    3. What's your favorite fast food joint? - Jimmy Johns!  I could eat there every day, and I would never get sick of it.

Updates: I went to two doctors appointments today.  At my first one my protein in my urine was still high and my blood pressure was 152/103 so they have increased my blood pressure medicatoin yet again.  Ive gone up from 100mg twice daily to 400mg three times daily, an increase of a total of 1000mg and my blood pressure still wont go down.  Today my doctor told me that if next week things dont look better that its going to be time to throw in the towel.  It was so scary to me because my doctor never seems concerned.  Today it was like she seemed defeated.  She told me and my husband that we wont have to deal with this much longer which sounds like a good thing and a bad.  She also chewed me out a little because i've been getting incredibly high blood pressures at home and I havent been calling her.  She gave me strict rules for when to go into thehospital and when to call her, she didnt seem too optimistic that my blood pressure would go down at all.  This is all so scary for a FTM, at least my husband is good at keeping his cool.  Sorry for the long post, I'm just a little scared and needed to vent.

  • 1. Yesterday's responses prompted this question... How do you "cheat" on BR?  If you mentioned a cheat yesterday, please give us a new one.  Come on... you know you have one more! - there is really no cheating allowed in the hospital

    2. What has been the most challenging part of your pregnancy thus far? - leg cramps from about 16 weeks after standing for not even 10 minutes.  It used to kill me just to stand and make dinner

    3. What's your favorite fast food joint? - I would have to say Subway - not really into fast food other than that

Updates: second round of Beta complete - now we are in the holding pattern until the babies arrive.  Still no contractions on the daily TOCO reading today.  6 weeks of bed rest as of today

Vents: The hospital is trying a new system to order your food each - calling it in instead of collecting sheets everyday for your order and they are messing up at least one meal per day for everyone on the floor - sucks!  I have been having family bring me food as I am sick of it.
