high betas??

So I'm 23dpo today and had blood test at 21dpo and then again today to check my betas. I haven't gotten today's back yet so I know this might be a pointless question but my betas from 2 days ago was 9.000 something! With my first pregnancy, which I lost at the time my betas were taken at 29 dpo, was 600 something. Does 9.000 seem high for being only 23dpo? Anyone else have high betas like this and how did it result? Some research I've done high betas have resulted in twins....oh boy! Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Re: high betas??

  • Sounds in normal range.  You can google hcg levels and a host of sites will pop up.  My betas were twice as high as what they should be, but only one baby.  It just means that the placenta is growing like it should be. Congrats!

  • That sounds normal to me. My beta was 4100 at 24dpo and it was considered to be low. I wouldn't worry!

  • At 28 DPO my betas were 40,581.

  • The numbers being high aren't really indicative of much. The doubling rates could indicate twins but not always. An ultrasound will tell you for sure.
    IUI #1 and #2 = BFN
    IVF#1 = BFN, no frosties

    IVF #2 = BFP!! TWINS!!! Born 3/9/12

    FET #1 = BFP!!!

  • Good to know. Thanks for all your input! I got the results back today from yesterday's tests and it was 14,800 so definitely going in the right direction. Would have liked to see them double but I'll take increasing!
