forget mat clothes... should i get a big pillow?

I'm a stomach sleeper and although I know I'm lucky I haven't smushed my LO yet (totally kidding), I just can't seem to stay asleep on my side. I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't get up in the middle of the night (yet?) so I start sleeping on my side and wake up on my stomach. Anyone have one of those C pillows? Do you think that helps? Any suggestions.

  • I do the same thing. I love sleeping on my stomach so it just happens. I've read other not FTMs talk about how they did it as long as they could and their baby's have been fine. I don't think it hurts them, but if you wake up uncomfortable then switch. I haven't tried a pillow yet and really don't wanna have to buy one.

  • I am with you on the stomach sleeping, there is nothing like it! I bought a Snoogle which I do like, although I still end up all twisted in it and basically on my stomach by the time I wake up to pee around 4ish! I'm considering cutting a hole in my mattress for my belly to fit into LOL!!!

  • I'm not a stomach sleeper, but I looooooved my Snoogle last time.
  • Are you not comfy on your stomach already?  Snoogles are good.  I bought a mat pillow with my first and it was great for 2 PGs.  I'm just going to get a body pillow this time.  it's nice to lean forward or back w/o laying on your stomach or back all the way.  takes the pressure off of your hip.

     This may be a possibility!

I'm still completely comfortable on my stomach, but I know it's not always going to be that easy, so I'm trying to sleep on my left side if at all possible. So, no such luck with a snoogle pillow ladies? Same difference?

  • I LOVE my snoogle! I'm not a tummy sleeper though, but it came out of the closet as soon as I got my bfp :))

  • I have one that I bought off of Amazon.  I'm still trying to determine if I like it or not.  I'm a back sleeper, but lately have found myself sleeping on my stomach because I am unable to get comfortable laying on my side.  The pillow helps when you're laying on your side, but if you need to turn over is a little too cumbersome for me.  I slept with it for the first week that it arrived and haven't used it since.  We also have a queen size bed which I think makes it more akward for me because it takes up too much space.  I think if we had a king bed that would help.

I love my snoogle too! It is a little difficult to switch sides with, but by 3rd tri it's impossible even without a pillow!

  • With the snoogle, do you have to use it as your head pillow too? I'd like one that will just fit under my belly and between my legs.

  • I just bought a $10 body pillow at Walmart and it's working well for me. I don't think I could handle how big some of those pillows are, and they're awfully expensive.

  • I just have a cheap body pillow that supports my belly and goes between my knees and it's perfect! We only have a queen size bed, so there wouldn't have been room for a snoogle or any of the other pregnancy pillows. Also I sleep on my side/stomach where my leg is hitched up so it props me up some, then with the pillow to support my belly it was perfect!

  • Yes, get a pillow, your hips will start to feel like they are going to crack in half as you get bigger laying on your side and the pillow's support is so nice. Your husband will hate it though....
