I was thinking of the upcoming holidays. DH and I fight about this every year at the holidays. He likes colored, I hate them and say only white twinkle lights. What say you BOTB?

Outside, I love white sparkly lights. On the Christmas tree, I do a TON of white lights with a strand of color just because I miss it a little from when I was growing up.
I change my mind every year it seems, but I generally prefer either white or single color strands. And I hate blinking/changing lights in the house. Hate.
My exception to this is at my mom & stepdad's house. They put colored lights outside and what with their terra cotta colored house paint with white trim, it looks like a gingerbread house and I love it.
My husband is really nostalgic about certain things, and colored lights on the tree just remind him of Christmas when he was a kid.
I think all white is gorgeous. But, I like fun, cheesy holiday decor. There's something homey about it. I can spend the rest of the year trying to look like a Pottery Barn catalog (which I never succeed in doing, anyway!).
I prefer white twinkle lights but I do make room for bubble lights. Because they are awesome.
Unable to even.

If all of my bubble lights from the 80s weren't broken or a serious fire hazard, I'd TOTALLY put them up
They sell them now and they're safe to use! I found mine at Walgreens last year.

Colored lights inside usually, but I'm not opposed to white. We don't do outside lights because there's no power outside right now, and my husband doesn't care enough to rig something up.

Oh shiiiiit, that's dangerous info
I'll bet they have a lot of corny crap I can buy!
Ya think they'll have a color wheel? Haha!
Ohhhhh! Then you can get the best of both worlds! Use white twinkle lights and then flip on the color fan for color.

We do both depending on the year and my mood. I love the big C7 and C9 ceramic lights. Under no circumstances are flashing lights permissible. They drive me bonkers. I would totally do the bubbler lights, too.
We were white lights until last year. Our lights wouldn't work. I had to run to the store to get new ones and they only had colored. Allie LOVED the colored lights. After Christmas we bought a pre-lit tree with colored lights for Allie. I figure until she is older Christmas is about her anyway.
Outside = white only, ever. It makes it look snowy.
Tree - mix.
We actually have white lights up around the edge of the ceiling in the living/dining room year round. One string is burned out right now, so I'm sort of hoping Target gets their christmas stuff in early this year so we can replace it soon.
Re: White Lights or Colored? Informal Poll.
For outside or on the tree?

White for the tree and inside, colors for the outside.
But never, ever chasers. Ever.
For the main tree - white.
For the basement tree - colored.
For outside deco - white.
Are those the ones that blink? They give me a headache.
I like white for everything. He likes colored for everything but especially the tree. I am just not a fan.

White outside and colored on the tree inside.
eta:
I take that back. We have white in both locations.
My parents do colored on the family tree and white on the formal tree.

Blinkers are one thing, chasers are beyond tacky.
you guys, wtf is a chaser?
is it the kind where the blink pattern goes down the line instead of random blinks?
So what are the chasers?

White lights outside.
Mixed colored lights on the tree.
DH thinks all red lights are the tree is the way to go, so we have to switch off every other year...and this year is mine! Yeah!
Instead of all of them blinking or a blinking pattern, the chasers, well, chase a light.
