colder weather

what are you all doing to keep LO warm at night? We've had a few cool nights and i've noticed when i change her diaper in the middle of the night that her feet and legs are cold, even with socks and long sleeve/pants pajamas.

any suggestions??

Re: colder weather

  • It's not that cold here yet - I have just been swaddling LO in a A+A blanket, and last night I added a onesie.

Have you tried keeping the long footie jammies and adding a sleep sac?  There's tons of different kids, and lots of them seem like they would be quite warm.

  • We use fleece footie PJ's and she seems to keep warm. It is pretty normal for babies to have slighly cooler feet and hands.

  • What is this "colder weather" of which you speak?  Do you mean to tell me that, in some parts of the world, it dips below 90 degrees?

I want to move where you are! it was 52 during our morning walk today! I'm not ready for colder weather Crying

  • We use a footed onezie and a blanket. It was in the upper 30s here this morning and it was enough to keep her feet warm. She loves her hands though and sleeps with them next to her head, so I didn't fuss about them being cold.

She is rolling over both ways and can wallow with the best of them, so we aren't super concerned about the blanket at night.  We also play with blankets going over her head and she works her way out of them, so not super concerned there.

  • So far she's just in cotton footie sleepers as it's still in the mid-70s in her room at night.  When it gets cooler, but not cool enough for the heater, I will add a sleep sack (cotton or fleece) or just fleece footie sleepers. Or a blanket tucked into the bottom and sides of her mattress, although she always kicks it off fairly quickly.  She has fl
