I think it depends on where and how it's used. I've seen it used for "get/getting pregnant" and less frequently for "general practitioner".

I think here, if you see any reference to GP May 2012 moms, it means people who came here from the Getting Pregnant board on the Nest. (Like me!)
It can also mean General Practitioner, though.
