Officially "waiting"!! (?)

We are ready for birth parents to consider us!!

I was a bit confused because we have not received our foster license (needed for domestic adoptions in WI) or our finalized home study, but our social worker has said that we are "approved" and that we would be considered for any birth parents they are working with.

We will have our 6 copies of our profile to them in the next couple of weeks, a facebook page has been set up, and I'm working on business cards for networking.

I'm thrilled! Woot!

I don't know for sure but sometimes the license is kind of a formality. You've got all your paperwork in and they've done the homestudy visits right? We did foster to adopt and did respite care and took our first placement before we actually had our license. It came in the mail about a week after we got our kids. Also, they may be showing you to BPs who aren't due for a 8 wks or more so they are assuming the license will be done by the time you have to take placement.

We have done all the paperwork, have had all of our interviews, and have done all of our training except for one class that we are doing next week. They said it's not a big deal though since we are registered for it (a multicultural parenting class).

It's just a matter of them getting everything written up into the official docs.
