I've been lurking here and there but haven't had much time to post obviously
Things are going pretty good here with our 2 little girls. Today is DH's last day home before he goes back to work and Stella will be at day care tomorrow and Friday so I'm looking forward to having some quiet time with Audrey. Stella has been so great with Audrey, giving her kisses all the time and trying to poke her in the eye and sit in the bouncy seat with her, lol! But she's also been a little more clingy to me, which I didn't think was possible. I've definitely been overdoing it with picking her up and I really feel it in the evenings so I'm trying to keep my recovery in mind, too. I think we have a pretty good balance going though. My Mom will be here all next week to help me too which is great.
Now if I could do better at keeping Audrey awake during the day so she's not up every hour-hour and a half at night, that would be great! (Any tips? You think it'd be loud enough with Stella and DH fooling around, but it's not so much). Time to nurse the baby and enjoy a little more quiet time while Stella naps. Hope all is well with everyone!
Re: Hello ladies, just a quick update
Glad to hear all is going well for you and Stella is adjusting well...
I have no advice for the day/night issue but just know it corrects itself soon!!
With DD, I remember reading something about keeping lights on and blinds open during the day, and in the evening, dimming lights and close the blinds, instead of trying to keep them awake. It helps the baby's body figure out day/night on its own.
Good luck!!
Great update! Enjoy your alone time with Audrey :-)
Ya, we did the lights thing too. And tried to get some outdoor walks in for the fresh sunlight, but that is probably harder now with 2.
I also had to basically strip her down to her diaper and tickle/poke or sprinkle some water on her to wake her up sometimes - especially during nursings. I don't remember how long it took to switch her, but I think it was only a couple days. It got ruined later on bc dh would let her sleep all day once I went back to work, but after setting him on a schedule it fixed itself again.
