Englishmajor03 24/25 CR: Virginia Woolf: A Biography LBR: The HoursI finished The Hours which was great and now I'm reading Woolfs biography written by her nephew. In The Hours there is an "Afterward" where the author mentions this particular biography as being especially neutral. By chance I happened to have picked it up at a book sale earlier this year. It's fascinating to read a bio on someone like Woolf. She's one of my favorites- pretty much any early woman writer makes that list- and I will be sad when I finish this. She, although privileged in material aspects, struggled immensely in mind.
jnksmom: 30/40 CR: "5 Love Languages" LBR: "Learning"
I also read Leaving which was the first book of a series and Learning was the second book. I put One Tuesday Morning away because I had the other 2 on reserve at the library and they came available.
I finished The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. The series was okay but I didn't love it. I also read The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons (really good!) and Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (Confessions of Georgia Nicholson #1) by Louise Rennison (cute, fluffy YA read). I'm still working on Griftopia and I started Heads You Lose by Lisa Lutz and David Hayward (I loved Lutz's Spellman series but this book isn't that great but it includes the authors' notes to each other- they alternated writing chapters- and those are really entertaining!).
Read2Me 120/175 CR: Griftopia and Heads You Lose LBR: The Bronze Horseman
I finished News of the World, so that's my LBR now (17/25), and I'm CR both Nonviolent Communication and a novel by James Salter (a favorite of mine) called Cassada about fighter pilots in Germany in the fifties. I'll probably finish that one first, lol!

LBR- The Unquiet
CR- The New Strong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson

Shanghai Girls was just 'meh' IMO and I wouldn't recommend it.
Delirium is starting out to be a fun YA read.
