Squirrels chewed our swingset

We have a nice swingset with a little clubhouse on top (like "2nd story").  My DD loves it up there, and she totally freaked out the other day because squirrels chewed in it!  There were pieces of acorns scattered all over, and the squirrels took big chunks out of the ends of some of the wood pieces for the inside of the roof.  There are huge splinters (the size of my little finger) and chunks all over!

Anyone else have this happen, or any ideas what I can do?  They chew on the kids plastic buckets that we have on the patio too.. it is ridiculous!

    They are destroying our plastic Step 2 swing set! That sucker was $300! I am about to start taking them out one by one, just not sure how yet! lol I was thinking a wooden set would be better, hm.....guess not!

    We are having most of our trees removed, it will either help or make it worse due to p!ssing off those rodents!
