pulling up to stand

Reese has been crawling for about a week now and she now crawls to anything stationary (or anything that looks stationary) and pulls herself up to stand. I have been walking with her with the dinosaur thing and holding her hands.

What are some other good things for walking practice/standing practice?

Re: pulling up to stand

  • Crazy woman, don't practice!  KNOCK.HER.DOWN.

Walking=a whole new level of mischief.

  • Loading the player...
  • ps- what's the dinosaur thing?
  • P&F have gotten much better at cruising and standing without assistance since we got the Laugh and Learn House. They cruise around and around it. They also love going around the border of our playyard/superyard.

  • The Leap Frog table was good for us, though after about 2 months of them pulling up it had to go on sabbatical because they were able to climb on top of it.

I will probably bring it back out in a couple months and see how they are with it because I feel like it will be good to help teach them shapes and colors later.

this just made me laugh so freaking hard. She's mischievous crawling, I can't imagine it being worse. But I know it can be.

  • We have a couple of push toys like a shopping cart that they enjoy. Other than that we just let them cruise the furniture (which also meant we had to teach them "no"). T is walking up a storm now, but A seems largely uninterested in walking (although she will climb on anything) - so I guess our approach has yielded mixed success.

ETA: The giraffe in the siggy pic is not one of their favorites.

  • They used the couch, Dino and the music table the most!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

    Bwahaha.  Agreed.

Although, yes, Leap Frog table was the biggest thing.

  • musical table, dino.... we also bought a lighter and smaller version of a push toy by FP  sorta like this https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Bright-Beginnings-Activity-Walker/dp/B000L53D4O/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1316053676&sr=8-8

that one is super popular now bc it is so light they can really guide it around easily.

  • Mine have been pushing their walker around, and they love cruisin the couch. Just today Tiana reached the shelf of the entertainment center where the phone and remotes are... time for more babyproofing.

Agreed! I'm more exhausted now then I ever was when they were newborns!

  • Just to note, it was months from when my girls pulled up to stand before they were walking full time.  I always thought it was a fairly straight through process, but it took a while before they took steps on their own, and then another few months before they took more than two at a time.
