I've talked to friends and family about getting pregnant. I think it's ok to continue playing on my slow-pitch softball league (once per week) and snowboard until I am showing..many of them say I should stop these activities once I get my BFP..what do you all think? Besides the obvious, no drinking, smoking, eating processed lunch meat, will you stop doing anything when you get your BFP?
Patiently waiting for our 1st since 9/2010.
Dealing with MFI, good count, good motility, 3% morph-HSG all clear, all other test results came back normal, IUI is our next step
May 2012- Clomid 50mg + IUI = BFN
June- Cycle Break
July- Forced cycle break due to cysts
August- Femara, Trigger, IUI#2= ?
Re: What will you stop doing once you get your BFP?
I think you should listen to what your doctor says. Everyone is going to give you a different opinion. Although I have to say that I can't imagine snowboarding while pregnant.
And as far as the "obvious" goes- I ate lunch meat all during my pregnancy. It was the only protein I could tolerate. My doctor had zero problems with it.
I plan on stopping climbing up on chairs and stuff to clean up high. I think my DH can take care of that for me.

I will do what my doctor recommends. Many people say that they will stop working out but I will continue to exercise based on doctors instructions. I cannot think of anything besides the obvious that I would stop doing.
I personally would not snowboard though. I am not an expert and I would probably fall quite a few times just trying to make it down the mountain. I just don't like leaning forward on the board to carve so I usually land on my stomach.
Me too!
And I'll cut back (not give up) caffeine and not eat raw sushi.
BFP #2: EDD 9/3/13~~Slow HB at 1st U/S~~MMC -Loss on 2/13/13

I drink way too much. I know I don't drink enough water so I think pregnancy will be a good reason to stop. I say that now but if MS is horrible I might not be able to handle it without it!
As it is, I don't drink, smoke, drink coffee or soda, so mainly I will just be staying away from harsh cleaning products. Probably opt for the more expensive, more natural stuff.
I saw the subject line and thought "trying to get pregnant."
Seriously, though, I will cut down on caffeine (down to one cup of coffee instead of two, or halfcaff at Starbucks).
Obviously, I'll do whatever my doctor recommends, but I'm looking forward to not having to unload and put away deliveries at work!
Personally when I was pregnant with DD, I stopped playing on my slow pitch softball team and snowboarding. There were to many things that "could" go wrong. In softball, someone could hit the ball wrong or I could trip in the outfield in a pothole or just something like that.
For snowboarding, I wasn't worried about other people as much as I was worried about conditions. I've ben boarding since I was 10 and it's rare that I fall when I'm riding but you could always hit an ice patch or little bump. Just to be on the safe side, I stopped both until I had the baby. My opinion, you can stop things to be safe for 9 months. However, if you hurt your baby doing sports could you really ever forgive yourself? I plan to stop both as well when I get my BFP.
JMO though, to each their own.
IVF #1 with ICSI - ER 1/20 (16R, 12M, 10F), ET 1/23 (1-10 cell and 1-8cell transferred), BFP on 1/31 Beta #1 on 2/3 = 68, Beta #2 on 2/6 = 261 EDD 10/12/12
DH says that's when we are getting one of the self-cleaning litter boxes.

About lunch meat, my friend's ob said turkey is the one that is safe not to warm up. My ob said any was fine, but to avoid it if I could do to the sodium. But I craved grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, so I hate one for breakfast everyday for about a month.
I will be cutting back on caffeine. I am now drinking 4 cups somedays, so I really just need to cut it back in general.
I will watch my heavy lifting. I don't do it, ever, so it is a strain for me. And I bled after lifting something when pregnant with DD. I still think it was a coincidence, my progesterine was low and I think that is what caused it.
And, I told DH that women of childbearing age should not clean the litter box, so I never have to do it anyways.
Obviously it's your body - but one of the first things on the doctors "no-no" list when I when I got my bfp with DD was skiing/snowboarding. =(
I'll stop my excessive coffee habit (working on it slowly now, but will not give up until I see pink!)
Depending how quickly the morning sickness sets in, I will probably hand over a lot of the cooking to DH, as the smell and look of meat (and other things, including my beloved coffee) made my stomach turn.
