C-sections

anyone have bleeding at the incision corner 3 weeks later?

I just noticed that the corner of the incision is bleeding a little bit. This is my second cs, and I didnt have this with the first. It looks like the stiches might have desolved a little earlier that I healed and it is opening up a tiny bit. I am going to call my dr when they open, I was just wondering if any one else experienced this. TIA

  • This happened to me several times.  I'd go into the doctor to get it checked, and each time she told me it was normal.  She said to just keep it clean with Neosporin.  I don't remember the full explanation, but it was something about the body's natural way to push out possible infection instead of letting it go deeper into the wound.

My openings would be roughly the size of a pencil eraser, sometimes bigger.  It took a couple months for them to finally stop.

  • My incision did the exact same thing a few weeks ago and it scared the heck out of me. I just had my second c-section and I had staples with my first c-section and had bleeding all the time. I continued to put Neosporin on the incision this time around because I had the dissolving stitches about three or four times a day and the bleeding stopped.

  • Yes - the tail of the sticthces was left too long and it curled back in and was not letting it close all the way. It ended up slightly infected so my Dr had to take that stitch out and cauterize the incision so it would close (hurt like hell).
