My doctor said that I could take colace (it is a stimulant free stool softener) I have started popping 2 at night with my prenatal vitamin and it has seriously changed my life. I highly suggest you try it!

Metamucil did NOTHING for me and it was gross.. what's kind of worked, is taking a slow walk around the block and drinking a hot cup of chamomile or peppermint tea after I eat and massaging my stomach.. it's TMI, but I've been going in the middle of the night and it's like giving birth! LOL.. hope that helps.
Colace really does work, but it can take a day or two to start working (for me at least). My sure-fire cure that works within the hour is some yogurt & a decaf iced mocha.

I've tried all of those things without much luck and started taking Miralax on recommendation from my dr. I thought one dose would get things going, but it didn't. Then my SIL who is a pedi and a 2x mom said to just take it everyday or every other day, so that's what i started and things are mildly better now. If other remedies don't work, try it!
I've been drinking a glass of prune juice every afternon and have drastically increased my fiber intake (fiber bars, lots of spinach and fruit, etc) and it has worked wonders!
I had a cup of this tea last night and let's just say that it works . You should be able to find it at any health food store or even some grocery stores:

I also eat a high fibre cereal for breakfast, and sometimes for dinner. And coffee works too (I'm on half-caf these days).

I'm having the same problem!! I am at my wit's end and finally called my dr. The nurse suggested Phillips of Magnasia(sp) and then I take zofran which doesn't help with the constipation and when I take it to take Mira-lax... Has anyone used the Milk of M before? If so, does it work quickly?!
Re: the constipation is KILLING me:(
Thanx!! I was just reading about Colace on WebMD, I'll definitely try it;)
Colace and make sure you are drinking water...
I have a small iced coffee in the morning and it has worked wonders. OB said it was perfectly fine.
I was wondering if I could use Benefiber. I was going toask my OB at my first appt.

Two a day, every morning of my last pregnancy (big bag from costco kept in the fridge) and I never had a problem!
Hmmm.... Maybe this is why I haven't had any constipation. I have always loved Fiber One bars!
