Do you try to "stay on schedule" in the mornings that your DC doesn't have school? My DD has preschool MWF, and she has been pretty good about not sleeping in unless we have a lot going on the evening before. However I try to get the kids downstairs for breakfast etc more or less on schedule.
I was just wondering about this, because on weekends, my DH will lay in bed watching a movie with my DD in the morning, so then it is like 1-2 hours after she normally has breakfast, she is still in her PJs and hasn't been fed and I get kind of frustrated. I mean DD could care less - she'd love to lounge in her PJs playing with the iPad all day, but I like to keep a little bit of a schedule - because usually the kids get grouchy if they haven't eaten breakfast by a certain time, then lunch ends up late, etc etc. I mean I'm not crazy if we stray from schedule, but I do try to be a little consistent.
Re: Non-school mornings
Sadly my kids wake up at 6:30 every morning of their lives regardless...
We do more cuddle time on non-school mornings but my guys need food like a bear who's hibernated thru winter so we don't wait too long for breakfast or I pay for it in spades.
Other than that?
Our rule is that we get dressed before going downstairs so that base is covered.
I guess for us we've usually got errands to run or fun things to go do so we're maybe 1-2 hours behind school departure at most.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
No. I WAH. If I can work while DD sleeps in in the morning, it's heavenly for me. Also, we like to sleep in on weekends. DD typically sleeps until 9 or 9:30, sometimes even 10 if I don't have to wake her up for school. She doesn't nap at all anymore, so I looooove mornings to myself when I can get them.
Waking DD up for a school is a PITA, but I prefer that to having her wake us up early when she's not in school. I'm not a big stickler for schedules.
Trying to. I am not a morning person so up until we started school 2 weeks ago, I didn't get up until the girls did and that was usually about 9am. Now that they are in school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, I am really trying to keep to a morning schedule on off school days. The girls have to be up by 7:30 on school mornings, so I have been setting my alarm and not letting them sleep past 8am on non-school mornings. Mostly because I like the new bedtime of 8pm on school nights, I don't want them going to bed late on non-school nights and then they won't want to go to bed on time on the school nights.
Again this is harder on me because I am not a morning person and waking up to an alarm when I know we don't have any where we have to be, is torture for me.
