Trying to Get Pregnant

Slow Rise after O?

I don't know how to link my chart...

But can anyone tell me if this matters or what this might mean?  I have a clear temp shift and am positive that I O'ed when FF says but it took until today (4 dpo) to see my temp really shoot up...

Is this important? If so, what does it mean?

THanks!!

Re: Slow Rise after O?

  • I almost always have a slow rise after O.  In fact, I usually have a fallback rise.  In my case, I do have a luteal phase defect but it doesn't always mean something is wrong.  It is not uncommon to have a slow rise.

  • It'll be easier to comment if we can see your chart.

When you're on FF, go to Sharing > Setup, then scroll down and select the chart(s) you want to publish.  Then copy and paste the link from near the top of the page (under "Your Charting Home Page Web Address:"). It should look like

    https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2d2fe2

but with different numbers/letters on the end.

  • I just recently had my first RE appointment and when I showed him my charts, he immediately commented on my slow rise.  I have almost a stepped rise after O.  He said this is indicative of a weak O.  It may not be related, but I was also diagnosed with PCOS at the same appointment.  I'd definitely keep an eye on it.

Yup that link worked. I definitely agree with FF. It matches with your OPKs, you have an obvious temp increase (higher than previous 6 temps), and your CM is good too.

  • Thanks...I think so too.  What about the "slow rise"?  Does that look like a weak O or can you tell from this?

Also - as I have a DS, it is possible that a "weak O" may be new after he was born?  he's two.

I have heard the theory of a "weak O" but .... I have no idea how true it is. If you look at my charts, my last cycle (the one before this one) had what I would call a "weak O" and I got pregnant (though it ended in m/c). The BFN cycles before that had a very sharp increase in temp and I didn't get pregnant.
