Depends on the Dr. Usually they just do a doppler, and the 1st u/s is when they do the nuchal translucency test, usually around 11-13 weeks. At least that's what I've been told by my u/s tech. friend and what happened with me 1st time around with DD. HTH
I think you will. With my first I had my first appointment at 9 weeks and they do an internal ultrasound to make sure their is a sac and baby. You will probably be able to see or hear the hb too at 9 wks. I loved it!
It depends entirely on you OB. You should probably call the office and ask. My first official appointment (other than for B/W) will take place when I am 7 1/2 weeks and I will be receiving my first U/S then. It's especially good to know in advance in case your H wants to come with you. My DH has already asked to take the time off of work, lol.
I would call to find out... I have my first u/s scheduled for 2 weeks from now and they have given me instructions on what I can/can't do for the hours before... no soda(and other things I've already forgotten) and I have to drink 32 oz. of water immediately before the appointment.
