Of course it is. Dating can be exhausting under the best of circumstances but add in a child in the mix and it's almost impossible.
From my experience I have gotten more freedom since DS is older. Every few weeks or so he stays the night with my parents so I can go out with friends or just have a break. It doesn't really have anything to do with dating, more just time for me and I enjoy it.

- Because you have less time due to the fact that you have to work, take care of LO and all the other household chores.
-Because you need a trustworthy sitter to be available.
-Because not all men want to date a woman with a child. (Their loss)
-Because it isn't just about finding a good match for you, but also your LO
Dating should be fun too, but having a child makes you realize how important it is to find a truly wonderful partner. Be picky, it is ok to be single for a while.
Perfectly said. I have tried dating ONCE. I walked away when he said I wasn't spending enough time with "him". He made me feel guilty about not driving to his place every night. Whatever. I will try again when mediation is over, when I dont have so much extra "baggage" lol

It is harder. I went out for fun in the first year after I split with my ex. I met a great guy about a month before the 1 yr anniversary of the breakup.
I am lucky that my new boyfriend understood the priorities that a single mother has, and now he loves DD like his own too.
Re: Single Mommy
I don't have personal knowledge either way, but it is logical.
Is this a surprise?
