Opinion on Girl Names

Hi Ladies,

We're having a girl and are having a tough time deciding on a name. There are a few combinations we like but can't decide.

My DH is in love with Amelia. I like it too and love the fact that he chose it.

I always loved Isabella but it is far too common so I was thinking of only using it as a middle name. I'm a little worried that Amelia Isabella doesn't really flow well. What do you all think? We also have Ls in our last name and I'm just wondering if it's too much. Or am I overthinking it?

Another contender is Gianna Isabella.

Which do you like best??

I might do Amelia Isabel or Gianna Isabel instead. I don't like how both names ending in a's sounds. I prefer Amelia Isabel FWIW

I love how common my name is getting!! (Gianna)

I like Gianna Isabel/le. Amelia is very pretty but I don't like it with Isabella ir Isabel/le

My thoughts:

Amelia is a nice name. I think it's poised to become really popular in the next 10 years.

Isabella is too popular. It's pretty, but we're all over it.

Amelia Isabella doesn't flow. Amelia Isabel works, though.

Gianna Isabella is lovely. And it has an edge for me because it sounds great with your son's name, Luca.

If you really want to use Amelia, why not use the Italian spelling (Emilia)? It works with the style of your son's name.

This! Amelia Isabel sounds beautiful! I love Amelia as a first name, too. You and your husband have great taste.

LOVE the name Amelia-in fact, it's on top of our list.
BUT with Isabella...I think Gianna works better.
Gianna Isabella sounds more elegant. Smile

I like Amelia and Gianna but I don't think Isabella sounds nice with either of them.

I'm a big fan of Amelia and all its great NNs (Mia, Mila, Millie), but it is getting very popular. I'm not a fan of it with Isabella, I think it needs something shorter.

I like Amelia and I think it sounds good with Isabelle. Not as much of a fan of Gianna, its not bad, but I much prefer Amelia. I think you should choose the first name you like more because neither sound bad with the MN and you will mostly be using the FN.
