Pregnant after IF

Not feeling all that pregnant today or yesterday

We have our 6-week ultrasound on Monday the 19th, and of course every day until then is pure anxiety.  At first I could definitely tell there was something going on in there, and my beta was super high -- but as of the past couple of days I've felt almost normal.  I've been exercising, so maybe that's given me some energy and decreased my bloating, but it still makes me worried to not have the same symptoms I was having.  My boobs hurt less, too. I guess I'm just looking for someone to reassure me that this is normal and that I'm going to go in there on the 19th and hear healthy little heartbeats (or heartbeat singular).

Re: Not feeling all that pregnant today or yesterday

  • You know - I just reread my post from the other day about waiting to see the heartbeat, and I apologize for asking the same question over and over again.  You all provided really great answers and kind reassurance. I need to listen to it instead of being like  broken record.

  • hang in there sweetie.  we have all been there and had our crazy out of our mind with worry moments.  symptoms come and go so don't put too much stock in that (easier said than done i know).

it will get easier, although the worry never goes away totally.

  • I know how tough this can be! But, if it's any consolation, the two times that I actually WAS pregnant were also the times that I had the least "symptoms" early on.

  • Playing the "Symptom Game" is tough. Even now, at 20wks, I have days when I feel like I'm not pregnant at all. It's weird to me, but until she kicks again I'll feel totally normal.

Just hang in there and try and trust your body. I know it can be so hard, especially coming from an IF background.

We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

  • Totally normal!!  I experienced the exact same symptoms (or lack thereof).  There were many days when I was convinced that I was no longer pregnant because I just felt too good!  IF plays terrible mind games, I know.  It gets easier, but I still worry.  This morning I was convinced something was wrong because I felt TOO good, and I noticed that I hadn't felt her move all morning.  I started pushing on my stomach and tried to agitate her and FINALLY she kicked me . . . and my persistant indigestion returned as well soon afterwards. LOL.

Good luck on the 19th!  I'm sure you'll be just fine--but it will be a huge relief to see the little flicker (or flickers) on the u/s screen.

  • I so completely understand the feeling/ worry.  However, I think it's totally normal not to feel anything at first, but yet worry about it.  I had the same feelings.  My cramping disappeared well before week 6.  After that, I had basically no really significant symptoms until week 9, when I was blessed with indigestion/ gas, but still nothing that really made me "feel pregnant".  Now that I'm closer to week 12, I am getting bloated even without the gas and I guess I somewhat "feel" pregnant for the first time (my skinniest pants no longer fit).  But it doesn't matter -- I still worry and even the relief I felt during any one of my 3 ultrasounds so far eventually returns to worry after a little while.  I think it's damage thanks to IF...

I agree with a PP -- don't play the "symptom game" too much -- just look forward to seeing the HB(s) in really just a few days!  Congratulations, as well!!

  • It is totally normal to have pregnancy symptoms come and go. I know I was scared when my symptoms lessened, but I have a healthy baby in my belly. Hang in there!  Just keep telling youself  "Today I am pregnant."
