If you've been thinking about using a wrap, do it. I bought 5 yards of fabric from my local store ($30) and cut the width in two. I now have one wrap for me and one for my SIL (a nice brown fabric with little sage dots). I've used it at the grocery-store and walmart.
Also, if you pick certain holds you can wrap it on yourself before you leave the house and just slide the baby in when you get there instead of wrapping in the parking lot.
Re: Home-made wrap is awesome
here you go
Love the fabric. Love the baby, ADOREABLE! Is this is no-sew ring sling ?
I've forgotten what kind of fabric I bought but I think it's a jersey- I bought something stretch with ends that curl and don't fray so I didn't have to hem.
It's not a no sew ring sling, it's a no sew wrap- like a moby wrap imitation.
Thanks, I was wondering what to put as a marker. Was thinking a patch or something. Riboon would be nicer.
FYI for whoever is wondering, this is the one we are making:

I am going to be making this one this weekend.

I got all the supplies at Joann fabrics. Hopefully it will not be too hard. I will post pics.
so I made the maya wrap. super easy. only thing is I will make another one in a cotton fabric. The one I made is a bit too stretchy and I did not need it to be so long. Iittle one fit in it nicely after I tightened it. she actually fell asleep in a few minutes! The length on the instructions is if you are going to make the pocket so If you do not want the pocket I would take off the extra after you fit it on. I am about 5'4" and I got the length in 2 1/2 yards. I am taking off about 12" off the length.
I am going to try a muslin fabric due to that will have less stretch to it.
I will take some pictures later.
With all the supplies it was about 13 dollars to make.
