Potty training resources

What did you use?  book?  website?

Evan has been going on the potty about 3-4 times per day, most of the time he is asking to go.  We praise him and have started giving him a small reward most times.  I feel like I need a more structured way of doing things, especially with how busy I can get with Andrew.   Like how many times a day to have him try, when to start underwear, etc....  Maybe I am overthinking this, but I feel like I have no idea how to do this and he is acting so ready.

    My DD loved the DVD "Potty Power", and rewards.  For things like learning to go #2 on the potty, she got to go to the amusement park, it was a HUGE incentive over an M&M!  I think some of the pullup websites have things like reward charts, if you felt you needed them.  GL!

    Seems like you're on the right track already. My main resources were friends, my mom, and Ian. I did do a sticker chart with a "treasure bag" in the beginning (MrsRichardson gave me the idea). Eventually, he became so used to it that he didn't even pay attention to the chart anymore and just went when he had to. We didn't do it on a set schedule (every hour, etc) because he hated it, so we really had to watch for cues.

    For underwear, we put them on him whenever we were home. In the beginning while he was still learning, and not ready to use toilets away from home, we used a pull-up when we were out, and pull-ups at naps and bedtime. Now we're down to just the pull-up at bedtime, and most mornings he wakes up dry. So, we'll probably be down to just underwear soon.

    We really just followed his lead. As he became less dependent on the rewards, we backed off on making them a part of it all and treated it as a matter of fact. You're (and E) doing great. Just get used to his signs, and he'll probably have it in no time.
