Student called me out...FUNNY!!!

So i'll be 8 weeks in two days and i've gained like 6-8 pounds so far...which i'm not quite understanding since i've been so sick and have still been active with my job, but the dr said she's not worried about until later on because she just wants me to get myself through the first tri.

Well today I was teaching my 4th period class a lyrical to Adele's "Someone Like You"...my 4th period class has 4 students in it and 2 are pregnant!  So I was teaching them a few 8-counts and I was so out of breath.  One of my pregnant students goes:

Student: "Miss are you tired?"

Me: "What?"

Student: "You are out of breath!"

Me: "Yeah i'm a little worn out."

Student...looks at my belly and goes "MM HMMM!!!!"

I didn't respond and just kept teaching but later I had a good laugh about it.  I guess that means I may be looking a little pregnant...lol.

    I'm curious--where and what grade do you teach that you have 2 students in one period who are pregnant?

    I teach in a low socioeconomic area...I teach 9-12 grade dance as a fine arts elective!  It's not unusual to have pregnant girls in my dance classes.  Or have girls who already have children.

    Sounds like a fun class to teach!

    I would get so frustrated with the amount of pregnant/parental students.  With all the various forms of birth control available...I'll stop otherwise I'll be shouting from my soapbox.

    Haha that's funny. I am starting to wonder if any of my students (especially my volleyball girls) are noticing whether I am or not. My stomach is soooo bloated every day, and it looks obvious from that even though I'm not techinically "showing" It's just all bloat. I've also been super irritable and exhausted. Nobody has said anything yet though.

    Yeah my belly is just getting bigger but it's obviously not baby yet.  I look like I have a beer belly like my father!!!  LOL...my focus is to work on my arms and keep them toned!

    My students noticed before the adults in the building. I think it is because high school students are way too judgmental! ahah
