I remember them saying that the external part of the incision was put back together with a thing called dermabond. He basically said it was like a "heavy-duty super glue"
I have an appt with my dr. tomorrow but was wondering in the meantime if this will affect in any way my hopes of a VBAC? I had a normal, bikini-line incision but am hoping that the "glue" won't be an issue for attempting to VBAC
TIA
Re: Dermabond (c/s scar)?
My OB/MW knew going into my c-section that I would want a VBAC, and I had dermabond.
I don't really think (or, at least I hope) [good] doctors use many techniques that are VBAC prohibitive these days.
Ditto. The uterus is closed with suture. The last layer of tissue (before the skin) is closed with suture, too. Dermabond is only used to close the skin, so it doesn't affect the potential for VBAC.
