Update to runaway follicles...

For the few who cared enough to answer my post:

I don't know what the nurse was looking at, but I have 2 lead follicles not 5, which is not a big deal at all!

Also, I'm looking at 13 follicles that are growing around the same rate.  I have 18 in total, but they don't expect all of them to be mature.  That's FANTASTIC news.  We wanted less eggs and better quality.  Also, my estrogen levels are fantastic.

The one bad thing, was that it looks like I'm stimming at the same speed as last time, even though I have less eggs.  We originally thought the retrieval would be Monday or Tuesday, which would be 9 or 10 days of stims.  Now we're looking at Sun/Mon, which would be 8 or 9 days.  I did 8 days last time and we wanted to make it until at least 9 this time.

Anyway, I'm so glad I got to see the Dr and she apologized for the confusion and told me she wants to do Friday's ultrasound herself.

  • That is great news compared to what you thought was going on earlier!  I will keep my fingers crossed you at least make it to 9 days of stimming.

  • Glad to hear it!!  Based on my RE's office the average stim time is 8-10 days so I think you are fine if you only stim 8.  Sounds like things are going great.
