Anybody done Lupron/HCG trigger? Any idea on the benefits vs. a straight HCG trigger (what I did last time)?
I know my RE is trying to get more mature eggs, but I don't understand how this helps. Thanks.

Re: Trigger with Lupron AND HCG?
The Lupron in addition to the trigger shot is to help keep your ovaries suppressed & keep them from ovulating on their own. Maybe they saw something in the results of your lab work that signaled their decision to add the Lupron?!
Good luck to you!

I am supposed to do a Lupron trigger with a HCG booster after ER. Here's my understanding of the situation: The Lupron trigger drastically reduces the incidence of OHSS. However, HCG triggers provide the needed support during your LP. So, by providing the Lupron trigger with a HCG booster, they get the best of both worlds.
I'm definitely not a RE, but maybe your RE is thinking along those same lines??

Thanks, I am pretty sure I'll be taking them both as trigger, no booster. OHSS is not a concern based on dx and previous response, that's why I'm curious about adding Lupron for trigger. My RE is also extending the time between trigger and retrieval by 2 hours. Seems hard to believe that 2 hours makes much difference...

Oh no! I'm sorry...I should have read your post more carefully. Hmm. That's really interesting about the two hour delay. It sounds as though your RE is really taking the time to develop an individualized plan for you. I sincerely hope this is the perfect protocol for you!

They triggered me with both, too. Only 1/2 ml of HCG and 20 IUs of Lupron at 10 p.m. and then another 20 IUs of Lupron at 8 a.m. the next morning. I never asked about the reasoning behind it but I think PPs are right about minimizing the risk of OHSS, etc.
