A good friend of DH's just had a baby (well he didn't - his fiance did - but you know what I mean LOL).
Baby is all of 4 days old, and she has slept through every night from 10pm-5.30am. They're still in the hospital, so I sincerely hope this continues for them when they get home!
I know this does happen for some people...my dad once told me that a coworker of his had 3 kids, all of whom naturally slept 7-8 hours a night from the day they were born, so the coworker never really understood why people say newborns are so hard on your sleep!
My guys wanted to eat every 3 hours on the dot, so I have to say I'm a bit jealous lol.
Re: luckiest new parents EVER
I'm SUPER jealous! R sleeps from 8p until anywhere between 12a-2:30a then will probably get up a couple times because he flipped on his stomach and his binky fell out so he gets pissed. Then he will wake up at 5a (I CANNOT break him of this) sometimes he will stay up until his morning nap at 8a and sometimes I can get him back to sleep until 7.
He is all over the map and this mamma is TIRED!!!!

Can he put his pacifier back in by himself yet? If so, put like 8 of them in there with him. No joke. That way there's always one within easy reach for him - this helped a ton with Will and Dash!
That sounds nice, but I thought babies need to eat every 3-4 hours when they are that small?
From what I've read, as long as they're full term, if the baby wants to sleep, you let them sleep. If they start losing weight it's a different story, but as long as they're gaining weight and aren't dehydrated, then it's not a problem.
At times that is what I did with J. Not the same as an older baby dream feed but I was so nervous about supply that I would let him eat even if he was sleeping every 3-4 hours for the first few weeks. He usually went right back to sleep but would kind of become alert (eating is hard work at that age).
He can't figure it out yet at night. During the day he is getting the hang of it, but at night he can't figure it out. Maybe because he can't find the 1 binky that is in there? Maybe I will just try the multiple binky thing and see if it works out or at least see on the baby monitor if he is at least trying to do it.
BTW, GREAT job based on your new siggy
I'm still trying to get my arse in gear hear. Maybe when R gets more predictable in the mornings I can schedule in the workouts better.

Yeah, this is what would worry me! I hope for them they continue to have a good sleeper, but it would be REALLY hard to go from STTN to 3 hour feedings.
It took Will and Dash longer at night than during the day as well. I think partly because even though they were waking up because they wanted their pacifiers, they weren't waking up enough to go through the motions of putting them in. Hang in there! It's a really frustrating phase!
wow I am so jealous. I can't even fathom that.
we never used paci's but definitely get 10 for the crib....and get the glow in the dark kind, that's what Malia did
