Houston Babies
New to CyFair- OB, Hosp, and Pedi Likes/Dislikes?
Recently moved to the Cypress area and I need help with recommendations for an obgyn, hospital to deliver at, and pediatrician for my 1 yr old. I'm a Tenet employee so delivering at CyFair or Houston Northwest would be my most affordable options, but I'm looking for the best experience overall.

We see Dr. Knapick at Tx Children's Pedi on 290 at Huffmeister. Near the new hospital. We really like him and I've seen other drs in the practice that we like.
My OB is in the Med Center, so I can't help you out there. Some girls have delivered at CyFair and had good experiences.
great to hear you like dr. knapick. that's the pedi my husband chose. i'll have our baby this week, but we haven't had time to do the big "before baby interview/meet and greet". so it's nice to hear that he seems good!
My OB: Stephanie Smith-Sham (Solo practice) she give you full attention when she sees you... Her staff is great... answers all my calls when I have questions...
Plus she is located right next door to Cy-Fair Hospital and is affiliated with them.. Since I am still 15 weeks out till my due date... My Pedi will be Peggy Wongsa (recommended by my OB) plus she takes her own kids there.
How was the experience at Cy-Fair Hospital for those of you who had your babies there?
Do you mean North Cypress? They told me they didn't have a maternity ward??? Or is there a Cy-Fair hospital?
Cy-Fair Hospital. It is located at 1960 and Jones. I don't think North Cypress will have a maternity ward for a long time. My doctor's office is at North Cypress but he delivers at Cy-Fair.
Just a note, he's a little dry. But he will tell you his opinion, the popular opinion and then will suggest you make your own choice when it comes to questions about your child. Sometimes I find myself wishing he would just tell us what to do, but in the grand scheme of things I like being able to make my own choices about my kid. The only thing he WILL NOT budge on is shot schedule. If you want a modified one, you should look again. I didn't, so we were fine. I also like all of the other people we've seen in the practice.
I delivered at Methodist Willowbrook and had a good experience. I was there for a month before I delivered, so I had plenty of time to assess the experience!
I go to Dr. Latricia Thompson. Her office is at Methodist Willowbrook and that is where she delivers.
Not sure what hospital you mean when you say Houston Northwest. There is a Memorial Hermann Northwest on 610, but that is not near Cypress. North Cypress Med center does not have a maternity ward.
We see Dr. Tiffant Nguyen at the same practice as Dr, Knapick that kreeper talked about above. My only complaint is that the wait time can be long at times. We have also seen another doc in the practice when DD was sick and we liked her.
