I've had a very easy pregnancy. Sure, I was super tired my 1st trimester and had mild nausea, but for the most part, it's been a breeze. The 2nd trimester was fun, I had tons of energy and didn't "feel" pregnant. I just had a belly.
Now that my 3rd trimester has hit, I'm nauseaus, have wild heartburn that nothing seems to help, get dizzy and nauseaus when sitting straight up (like while driving) and am exhausted again. I'm thankful we moved a few weeks ago before this all started. But it sure makes getting the place organized difficult.
So is nausea during the 3rd trimester common? Any tips to help it and heartburn?
Re: Nausea During 3rd Trimester?
My 1st pregnancy was such a dream. Not sick once. Appetite like Ms Pacman.
THIS TIME - I have been sick/nauseous the whole time. I'm in the 3rd tri too. I keep TUMS in my purse, by my bed, in my car. My OB offered to write me a script but for some dumb reason I blew it off. Dumb. You know what seems to work the best for me with heartburn? Bananas. I've been eating LOTS of bananas. Additional upside is that the extra potassium guards agains charlie horses. Another lovely symptom I;ve had this time through.
Drink lots of water and don't sit up fast. The extra bloodflow can make us dizzy with sudden moves. But also talk to your OB about your dizziness. It's pretty common in the 3rd tri but no harm mentioning. And don't push yourself. Exhaustion comes with the territory also. Our bodies are carrying a lot more weight around, and our insides are all poked! Right now my baby's head is on my bladder and I feel like I have to pee every 5 minutes! Just the hoy of pregnancy.
There is a cure -- hang in there!

I was very sick pretty much the whole first trimester and then the last half of the 3rd trimester. Zofran was my BFF, and I also tried to pay really close attention to what specific foods would make me feel the worst. Avoiding those foods (dairy, soups, etc.) helped.
Hope you feel better soon!
