Are the 4D u/s always offered during a pregnancy, or is this something that I need to ask to have scheduled? Also, do most insurance policies cover it or is it seen as a special expense?
I'm 20 wks and I've already had my a/s. What typical u/s should I expect and at about how many wks would I have them? When is the best time time to get a 4D u/s?
Thank you!
We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

At my OB practice, unless there's an issue, the a/s is the last u/s you get. We're getting growth scans now, but that's only b/c the practice requires them for moms over 35....You can check with your practice, but I think its likely that you'll have to go to a private place and pay OOP.
Hard to believe that they do so few u/s when we had so many to get pregnant!
My OB's office does them, but they are elective and not covered by insurance. My paperwork says we can schedule it between weeks 28-32 if we want one.

This for me also. And most OB practices don't do any more u/s after the a/s unless something is wrong or they need to check something.
