I have been struggling with nap time for months and months. 2 weeks ago, I accidentally discovered that DD had absolutely no problem falling asleep in her bouncer (it detaches from the swing and has no toys or music or anything). There is no crying or rocking or hours of fighting with her to sleep. I strap her in, she plays for a few minutes and then sleeps for 2 hours.
Last night, DD was sooo tired. I put her in her crib at bedtime and she was asleep. I turn around to put her clothes in the laundry basket and then look back...DD is sitting up in her crib clapping and then pulls herself up to standing. This happened 3 more times that night. So what I realize is that DD cannot possibly learn to fall asleep on her own because she does.not.stop.moving. It is very difficult to fall asleep standing up or trying to do a pull up (at one point she had cruised to the other side of the crib and tried to pull herself up the really tall side) or while clapping for yourself.
Re: Our crib needs a seatbelt
I'm picturing this and giggling to myself - it must be quite a sight!
